Oh, yeah! He's the mangaka behind Astro Boy! He's legendary! I've read that his style influenced Disney, and then Disney influenced other animators in Japan...! It's really cool!
[he spins the pool cue easily in his hand, a practiced movement, then jabs it, point down, into the ground at his feet, holding it with both hands. Wasn't his weapon supposed to be a sword?]
First: understanding.
You're taking the life of something—or someone—else. You don't have time, mid-battle, to contemplate the deeper truths—whatever they are—of what that might mean to you. Hesitation means death. Once more: hesitation means death.
[he pauses, for effect, cuz he ain't nothin if not a dramaticass bitch]
So the most important thing to do is to settle your feelings first. If you need a reason to cling to? Find one: duty, justice, pay. But when the moment comes, you must be absolutely sure of it. Of why you are doing what you're doing--
[he whips his cue out of the ground, and gives isaac a solid POKE in the stomach with the butt of it.]
[ Isaac knows a dramatic speech when he hears one. Though he's tempted to interrupt several times, he instead hangs onto his pool cue in both hands and listens seriously, attentive.
And then Asch IMMEDIATELY STRIKES and Isaac was
expecting it, actually. Asch is an asshole like that.
It's still pretty fast and he's incredibly unaccustomed to using a weapon, so while he actually does manage to block the attack, it's a second too slow, so Asch's pool cue glances off Isaac's and the butt of it will dig into his flank instead.
Isaac gives a hiss and leaps back. Now he's fully at the ready. ]
... yeah. I've been on combat missions before. Hesitation can get people hurt or worse.

I want to fight for justice, and to keep everybody I care about safe. If I have to kill for that, then ... fine.
[ his voice is low. he's definitely taking it seriously, and seems to mean it, though his expression is far from happy. ]
[There's a nod of something nearly approaching approving as Isaac actually reacts enough to glance the blow. He's a dramatic bitch, but game recognize game.]
Good.
But you wouldn't have asked for my help if you truly believed you wouldn't hesitate.

[ whoa, look at him go. practically sparkling. ]

he accidentally disturbed the nerd nest.
Instead of listening or enquiring further, he just hucks one of the pool cues sideways at him, easy enough to catch.]
You asked me to help you.

[ ASCH STOP CHANGING GEARS SO ABRUPTLY
Isaac catches it easily, blinks once or twice, and then nods, although it's a somewhat cautious motion ]
Yeah.

Second: technique.
How do you normally fight? What's your weapon?
