You see that flag he's holding? That's a matoi! The ancient standard of the firefighters of Edo who fought the flames with their bare hands! Be amazed!

Ok, I have to admit that's actually pretty cool looking.

They've got all these dusty old books no one is looking at. I'm the main one who'll appreciate this. See, back in the ancient days, the men who fought fires didn't have trucks or extinguishing fluid or mechs. [Mechs???] All they had was their courage and their bare hands and their teamwork! And they had matoi, which they could use to signal to everyone where to go and that they were there to put out the flames.

And now I carry on that incredible tradition!
