No, no, I believe you. I got locked in the library with like ten other people last night. [ IT WAS A LONG NIGHT
This time he fully covers his mouth with his hand. You can practically see the gears in this head turning, his gaze on Akira's face intense. ]
This isn't the first weird effect this week. Everybody lost a sense of some kind, and we all just woke up that way. But this happened suddenly, probably after the doors shut, since someone would have noticed if the two of you were talking funny before we all got locked in. So, between 11 and midnight last night, you two somehow lost your ability to answer questions.
[ A pause. ] Unless I just missed it, no one else had this issue when we all saw what happened to that lady, meaning it's probably just the two of you. That leaves ... two options. Either your actions caused this somehow, or someone or something did this to you.
If it was the second one, then it must have involved either the girls or Master Blue, since no one else could move around.
It happened after midnight. I was answering questions just fine last night.
[he WOKE UP like this, and it sucks??? IT SUCKS]
[Akira folds his arms and leans back in his chair, frowning as he does so. he winces slightly (his back is killing him) but his expression is contemplative]
. . . I've bounced a few theories off of Akechi and a couple of others, but all I have right now is speculation. Ash thought maybe whatever killed Haruka-san was trying to keep Akechi and I from talking about something important.
[shakes his head]
But as far as I can tell, nothing out of the ordinary happened in the billiards room last night. Other than the two of us being suddenly locked inside of it together.
After midnight... [ his voice warps a little as he remembers at the last second to make it a statement and not a question. ] Then you guys would have been asleep. Everybody else fell asleep around then, too. At least, in the library. If you and Akechi passed out at midnight too, that means probably everyone in the mansion had the same experience. All the doors locked at 11, and everyone went to sleep at 12...
[ mysteries upon mysteries. ]
But if nothing unusual happened in the billiards room before you guys fell asleep, then there shouldn't be any reason to keep you guys from answering questions. You'd have to know something they didn't want you two telling everyone else.
[mysteries upon mysteries!! Akira doesn't like this mysterious forced midnight sleep. it's why he slept hunched over the goddamn pool table with his face shoved in the pocket]
[UNCOMFORTABLE]
Exactly. That's the one problem with the theory. As far as Akechi and I know. . . we have nothing to tell.
[so. . .?]
So there has to be another reason we're like this.
[and he can't even ask the three girls because they AREN'T ANSWERING THEIR BELLS]
Lio and I were talking about it, and we both realized that for some reason we woke up today just knowing more about animals. It's tough to put into words, but we just ... knew this stuff, like we'd known it for ages.
Which reminds me... I should tell you about the blood and the fur if no one else has yet.
I have no idea, dude. Maybe because we slept around all those books and got magically smarter. Search me. [ ROLLS HIS EYES ]
Wright-san... oh, you mean that scruffy looking guy. Phoenix. Yeah, he's right. It just ... ended abruptly, which doesn't really make any sense, but literally none of this does, so.
[ Isaac covers his mouth with a hand again, thinking. ]
We've gotta talk to everyone. If this is really true, then people who ended up in other rooms should be experiencing some effect too. We need to find out what those effects are.
[ a pause, and ]
At least now we know your thing isn't some sinister plot. You just got really unlucky. [ ha ha har. ]

[ what?????????????? ]

[A HAND AGAINST HIS FACE]
That's. . . not what I-- [GOD]
Just don't ask me questions and we should be fine.
[at least by the time this PC takes place he has figured out what's wrong with him]

[ ............................................................. ]
You said something completely bizarre just now. [ eyes narrowed
IT'S NOT

I'm not asking. I'm telling you that you're saying strange things.
[ NO QUESTIONS AT ALL THIS TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ]
no subject
Yeah. I know.
[rubs his forehead with his hand, letting out a snort as he does so]
I don't know why, but I can't answer questions the way I want to.
I'm a living Kurusu Magic 8-Ball now.
[literally because every response he spouts off is a magic 8-ball response]
no subject
Alright, fine. If that's how we've gotta play it.
[ A sigh as he sits up again. He lifts a hand to his mouth, his brow furrowed as he thinks. ]
So this must have happened last night. With the way the doors locked... you weren't alone last night, either.
[ he phrases these things as statements, but they're definitely just guesses. ]
no subject
Smart guess. Akechi and I were locked in the billiards room together at eleven.
It was an accident, though. We had no idea the doors would lock.

[and Akira immediately perks up, interested in what Isaac is saying for several reasons. so he and Akechi aren't the only ones affected, huh. . .?]
Your effect seems pretty harmless, but. . . why would you suddenly know things about animals?
[??????????]
[as for the second part--]
Wright-san told me about the blood and fur already. He said the trail just up and vanished before he could find out where it led.

Wright-san... oh, you mean that scruffy looking guy. Phoenix. Yeah, he's right. It just ... ended abruptly, which doesn't really make any sense, but literally none of this does, so.

[and two others. . . he wonders]
[he also pauses]
[and considers what Isaac said about the books]
. . .
Was it just you and Lio-san who received knowledge about animals? Did anyone else in the library find themselves suddenly more knowledgeable, too?
no subject
[ that gets a pause, and Isaac sits up straight. ]
... I haven't talked to everybody, but ... Asch and Beau knew some stuff too. And they were with me in the library last night.

. . .
Akechi and I are spouting off responses to questions with phrases from a typical magic 8-ball.
The billiards room has an 8-ball.

[ his eyes go wide ]
No way. You're saying...
[ .... ]
We had stuff happen to us based on the room we ended up in.
