[ ... despite himself, he can't help a crooked smile. ]
Thanks ... for having my back, Ghost Puncher.
[ Isaac will huff, shaking his head and looking ahead of them. ]
I told somebody else this, but even though I didn't think he'd attack me, I'm definitely the one who started it. I had it coming.
[ ... ] And yeah, I'm okay. Luna checked me out and everything. And besides, I've been in way worse fights than that. It'll take more than a jerk like that to take me out.
[ She has a little smile of her own - she mutters a yeah yeah, of course, Mr. Wizard in response before listening to the rest of what he says. ]
Alright, well. First of all, good. I like that, you've got guts. Second, yeah, if you picked a fight you had it coming, but now you know, right? Now if you pick a fight, you're gonna know what it might end like, and weigh your options.
[ She gives him a little rueful grin. ] Shit, I sound like... anyway - if it was that Asch douchebag, you have to tell me, because I'm looking for reasons to kick his ass.
[ the compliment has an obvious effect--he goes a little pink in the face, clearly pleased. he'll nod along as she talks, and is about to completely agree when
he instead swallows his tongue when she drops Asch's name. like, he actually chokes and then splutters a little. ]
[ While, granted, they were at the investigation together, Isaac ends up with Luna immediately post-invest because the poor thing was freaking the fuck out.
But he made promises to find Asch and Beau, and -- it's Beau's turn, apparently, because here he is. He's come to find her. ]
[ SHE'S TOTALLY FINE. It's all fine. She's just in the billiards room, and she's halfway to drunk, playing a fun game of how many billiard balls can she whack into the holes before she breaks the cue.
When she hears Issac, she startles, dropping the cue and looking over at him guiltily. ]
She spends a good fifteen minutes just staring at the cage before she walks away. She can't torture herself - she will, she knows she shouldn't, but. Nikki killed someone. There's no way around it. But. What Issac said is true. She wasn't in control. And it could be any of them next.
She goes to find Issac. First, before anything else. ]
[ IT'S FINE PROBABLY, he had to help a bleeding Asch go stop bleeding, anyway.
It's mostly for this reason that he'll be calm again by the time Beau finds him, heads down and eyes on his shoes as he moves through the hallway. He'll slow to a stop once he spots her. His expression is ... complicated. Seems like he doesn't know how to feel.
He'll meet her gaze for just a moment, and then look away. ]
[ She frowns heavily when he looks away. For a second, she hesitates - wonders if he's angry, wonders if she fucked up. She thinks about walking away, thinks about going to hide in her room, but.
Cautiously, she approaches him, and then, roughly: ] You want me to leave you alone?
[ It hit Isaac this morning that he hasn’t seen Beau since the execution. The thought unsettled him, and it’s what’s driving him to search the mansion high and low for her right now. He’ll comb the grounds if he needs to, even! ]
Man... where the heck could she be?
[ naturally, being lost in thought means he won’t immediately notice he’s actually got company. bring him back to reality, Beau? ]
[ she does her best not to sneak up on him, but it may be impossible to avoid because she kind of just comes in stage left, walking right out of the kitchen with a cup of tea. he wanders past across the hall, and she just says: ]
Looking for someone, Mr. Wizard? [ she's all bruised up still, but hey. ]
[ she doesn't manage to startle him, which is nice! probably because he was actively looking for her. Instead he'll whip his head around and wave, trotting over. ]
Beau, hey! You doing okay? [ with some sympathy. she's pretty beat up... ]
[ issac went running and beau just - follows. without much hesitation at all. outside, or inside, wherever, but she's fast and she's not going to let him do this alone. ]
[ boy howdy is he hysterical. his voice keeps breaking. he'll run as far as he can while also crying so hard he can't breathe, which takes him to .... the garden! ]
[ it almost makes her pause - but she can't. he can yell at her if he wants. that's okay. she stutters, and then keeps going, following him to the garden, relentless. ]
[ It's only been a day with no sleep, but Isaac is already starting to feel tired. He's a growing boy, okay. Find him in the garden, crouched in front of a mostly-empty patch of dirt except for a few small sprouts starting to curl out of the earth. He's drawing in the dirt a few inches away, aimless, clearly not really doing much.
Given how close they are, Beau might sense some things through a faint link immediately: a general sense of smoldering rage.
Which is quite in contrast to his tired, exasperated exterior.
Still, it's Beau, and when Isaac spots her his expression will soften. ]
Hey there, Ghost Puncher. How're you holding up?
[ with the no sleep and the ...................... feelings. ]
[ she's so very, very tired, but she came out here with the intention of making more flower crowns for peach, so that's what she's going to do. except - she feels that smoldering rage, and it makes her turn and beeline straight for it.
isaac gets a sense of worry, plus some guilt. when she finds him, she smiles a bit, but the circles under her eyes are telling. ]
Hey, Mr. Wizard. Uh. Tired as fuck.
[ she'll just flop down next to him if he doesn't protest. ] You?
[ hey, if isaac is still string'd to beau, he's gonna feel her 800% grief and anger for about an hour or two and then just, nothing. just exhaustion. does he come look for her? because she's losing her shit. she's probably actually in the gym. ]
what was he doing all day? good question DOESN'T MATTER NOW since he's just gotta
find her.
and he really-- he looks everywhere because he's not gonna stop until he finds her. which turns out to be the gym, and thankfully he checked the third floor first, so it doesn't take too long.
When he finally sees her he almost yells her name, but ... instead he just lets that nervous energy carry him over to her, though he'll slow when he gets close, not sure what to do.
Whatever she says or does, after a moment, he'll just go up and wrap his arms around her. ]
[ that's fair, she's not exactly a super crafty person so this is the last place most people would look.
but! she's sitting on the floor in front of the craft supplies, and when she hears Isaac, she grins up at him. she looks like she's working with something clay? ]
[ he finds her in the arts and crafts room, and he just sounds ... burnt out mostly lmfao. he'll wander over to her and just. find someplace close to flop. ]
[ yeah, burnt out is a room. she's settled down near the clay, playing around with it, so when isaac comes close she hums happily, making space for him to sprawl out against her side or in her lap if he wants to. ]
Today was weird. [ she agrees, maybe a little sleepily. ] We did it, but it still doesn't feel right.
